In April 2025, leading 15 Bangladeshi newspapers covered more than 400 news of different types of accidents across the country. Road accidents were overwhelmingly the most common, accounting for more than 70% of the total coverages. Fire accidents came next with 19.4% coverage, followed by train accidents with 8.9% coverage, and river accidents with 1.5% coverage. The data reflects a continued dominance of road safety concerns in national accident reports, underscoring the urgent need for improved traffic regulation and infrastructure development. The figures are based on coverage from 15 major newspapers.
