Between May and June 2025, a total of 2,197 crime-related news reports were published across Bangladeshi newspapers, TV channels, and online platforms, according to an analysis by Ryans Archives Limited. The data reveals a concerning rise in crime news frequency, reflecting either a spike in criminal incidents or increased media focus on public safety issues. The five most reported crime categories were Murder, Violence, Arms & Terrorism, Drug Offence, and Robbery. Among these, murder led with 703 reports, followed by violence-related incidents with 492 reports, indicating the severity of interpersonal and political conflicts.
