Nearly 1 Million Individual Ad Appearences Recorded Across 40 Bangladeshi TV Channels in Aug

While traditional commercial breaks continue to lead screen time, advertisers and broadcasters are increasingly relying on subtle, non-intrusive formats that stay on screen during live shows to keep viewers from switching channels.  Standard video commercials—the classic TVCs—dominated the landscape, making up a massive 85.4% of every ad spot aired. Traditional commercial breaks remain the primary choice for brands looking to deliver full-length messages and story-driven campaigns.  Among non-traditional options, the L-shaped frame overlay emerged as the most popular format at 5.5% of total ad spots. Channels also frequently used 3.0% of screen availability for self-promotional promos to market their own upcoming programs and news bulletins.  The remaining share of ad spots was divided among various on-screen overlays designed to capture viewer attention without interrupting broadcasts. Quick pop-up graphics accounted for 2.3%, sponsored news tickers and segment branding made up 1.7%, and small corner logos—commonly referred to as doggy ads—took up 1.2%. Countdown timers leading into returning shows comprised 0.9% of total ad spots.
